Have you ever wondered why people around the world love to purchase, collect and wear watches?

Collectors and investors see watches as a store of value and something of high worth, as some prestigious labels may appreciate over time. They feel proud to have something of value on their wrist. Collectors value a watch’s history and the brand’s historical foundation including their achievements such as of Patek Philippe, Rolex and Omega, which in turn helps preserve their value. Watches produced by such manufacturers tend to be prone to malfunction and may work as expected decades after not being used. Their craftsmanship and quality of components is of extremely high standards.

Collectors may also acquire and curate to ‘scratch the itch’ of experiencing new timepieces. Horologists over the world love the ticking sound of watches. They love the idea of minute mechanical devices on the wrist and how thousands of little components come together to perform a function. The aura of feeling one on the hand is again a mood lifter for many. Watch collection soon becomes an addiction for passionists.

Regardless of the philosophy of collection one follows, it is essential to own watches as it is an indispensable part of your dress code. Each individual is recommended to own at least three watches, including a dress watch, a sports watch and a daily beater. This should satisfy the criteria of one’s wardrobe and should be fulfilling.
